Gambling Commission lottery consultation drawing to a close

Those wishing to comment upon the Gambling Commissions’ consultation regarding society lotteries have until the 30^th September 2017.

The Commission is seeking views on changes that will make it easier for consumers to understand where money raised from society lottery ticket sales is going.

The new proposals as set out in the consultation include:

• making it clear to consumers before they buy a lottery ticket exactly which society or charity the lottery proceeds are going to
• publishing how much money raised from lottery ticket sales is being returned directly for the purposes of the society
